hardware revisions have to an expected part of the console life cycles for decades, but usually they are hardware updates meant that kick up sales and reduce costs of production. Now an Xbox One Hardware Revision is rumored to be on the way, but it does not sound like quite the same thing.
According to Microsoft blogger Brad Sams the Petri, rumors of a "lightweight Xbox One" were taking in recent months.
If he says easy, he does not speak of an elegant, optimized version like the Xbox 360s Slim edition, but it is slightly less powerful - get your jokes about the current Xbox one's Power ready for the "Comments" section - and less expensive.
The system, he says, is "a lightweight Xbox One, perhaps the only for Windows save games and compete with Apple TV." Similar rumors were floating around during the start window for the Xbox One a few years back, but obviously were scrapped. My guess is that if something like this was in the wings, the plans went out the window together with Microsoft's lead thanks to the Xbox One's a botched unveiling and release.
If this happens, we can look forward to seeing you in the second half of the year, which is the system was announced at E3.
If Microsoft is thinking about something like this, you need to make sure that it is not something that can be confused with the Xbox One. Add the consumer confusion of the system already lagging sales could be a severe blow to the console.
This is all rumor now, but it seems reasonable that Microsoft is encryption internally for each type to catch the Xbox brand to the revitalized play station name. Even if Spencer has admitted that the Xbox One is simply not catch up to the PlayStation 4, it makes sense, they were looking for ways to lift up the larger Xbox brand.
As for the Xbox One a proper revision if the system keeps pace with the 360, we would see that sometime in 2018 - the Xbox One such as the Xbox 360, received an Elite Edition Two years after release, and the 360s Slim edition hit in 2010, five years after.
